In 2015, Embraer completed its acquisition of our company, creating a wholly owned subsidiary called Embraer Aero Seating Technologies. We now have the opportunity to work on some of Embraer’s commercial and business platforms, in addition to the solutions we are already developing for various luxury aircraft platforms. One great example of the way Embraer has impacted our business is their investment in a new 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Titusville, Florida. We are still designing and developing products from our headquarters in California, but we will soon start production of Embraer seats, including those for the first class cabin of the E-Jets E2 at the new facility in Florida.
The ribbon cutting event for the new facility was held on September 19th, 2016 when Gov. Rick Scott, and several state and local officials, as well as Embraer executives was present to mark the official opening of Embraer Aero Seating Technologies at Spaceport Commerce Park. Embraer is well known on the Space Coast with other units operating around Melbourne Regional Airport.
